Spanish term or phrase: perfilado de talud y estabilización de paredes
It's a title of a document:

Perfilado de Talud y Estabilización de Paredes

I'm familiar with using slope stability but I'm not sure how that applies to "paredes". The term "Estabilización de Paredes" is stated separately at times within the document.

Context:

------------ A few points under some of the "Perfilado de Talud y Estabilización de Paredes" headings.

agree  Thomas Walker: I think slope works a little better in this context. The walls are presumably concrete, forming a collection point for excavated material, where the cargador frontal can scoop it out & dump it into dump trucks.

PS: I don't know why Google books references don't seem to work in this section, but it's rather irritating.

I would use embankment rather than slope myself, but there you go.

Here's a mining reference with "embankment" in it:
"The best mine is the Empire Mine because you can go down a cement embankment inside the mine a short ways and see how they entered it ..."

In fact, if you run a Google search for ""embankment inside the mine" without the quotation marks you should get quite a few references.

Example sentence(s):
  • Work must first be completed on embankment profiling, installation of erosion protection and mechanical and electrical items. C
  • The extent of the proposed embankment profiling is shown as orange on the attached plan.

Asker: Thank you Neilmac! I just haven't been able to find any references to mining, it seems to have more to do with rivers and channels.
