peer agreement (net): +4with the result that [...] Explanation: To me, "which puts/places [country X] with 12.45% of women [...]" doesn't seem idiomatic, and I don't think you can use "ranks" here because there is no implied comparison with any other country. I would do it differently, using "with the result that". To avoid repetition I would use "leading to" for "lo que resulta en". So it could go like this: "[...] leading to adolescent pregnancy and early/premature marriage, with the result that 12.45% of women in [country X] [...]." Clearly you're right about the last part: "menores de 18 años" must refer to the mothers, not the children. However, I think the meaning is "12.45% of women have children [when they are] under the age of 18" (el 12.45% de mujeres tienen hijos cuando son menores de 18 años/antes de cumplir los 18 años), rather than "12.45% of women under the age of 18 have children" (el 12.45% de mujeres menores de 18 años tienen hijos), which is not the same thing. I think this is why "menores de 18 años" has been put after "tienen hijos". If I'm right, I would suggest you might say "have children before the age of 18", which is not ambiguous. Though it might be a good idea to check this with the client. |
