Hi! My feeling is that "scalable" is more what's intended - in the jargon that means it can deal with significant increase in volumes and that's what's needed for the sort of high-volume transactions involved here.

Re the references, there are so few that the asker might want to see them all - I've sorted out the chaff. It's different from a thesis in that there aren't definitive answers or acknowledged authorities.
If there had been one outstanding hit, I would have given it.

The asker has to exercise judgement on what I've suggested!!!

Not sure about the direct translation of 'scalable'. It seems to have a different significance in computer terminology - maybe 'upgradable'.
Mr. Lyons don't you think that just adding a google search as a reference is rather like saying "here's a map, the library is on XXXX street, go and and find it yourself". My PhD supervisor would have skinned me alive for something like that ;@)
