Spanish term or phrase: apoyos del pasador
I thought I had asked this one last night. But I did not receive notification of it being succesfully uploaded via a link to "Your Question" nor does it appear if I do a Kudoz search for the term. Strange...

Here is the original context:

"Por abajo el pistón se ve perfectamente limpio y los ***apoyos del pasador*** están perfectos, confirmación de que el pistón es nuevo y con muy pocas horas de uso desde su instalación"

Any ideas which pin is being referred to and what the "apoyos" would be in this case? Sleeves? Housing?

how many pins are near the piston in any case? Surely an engine expert will understand "pins".

I was hoping for a more concrete term, but this "fudge" will have to do. When there is a degree of dount, I think it is always better to leave it vague, rather than plumb for an answer that might be misleading or inaccurate. They're probably cotter pins, but as I'm not 100% sure....
