register or sign up/unsubscribe or unregister Explanation: It is more common to find the reflexive "darse de alta". E.g. Tienes que darte de alta en el Régimen Especial de Trabajadores Autónomos. I agree with the commenter above that "write off" is dubious, to say the least. It has a very different meaning to "write someone off". The term here would be unsubscribe or unregister from something. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 hrs (2013-02-01 10:08:21 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- My mistake, Alfonso, I only just saw your explanation "se habla se añadir/retirar maquinaria o activos del inventario". Silly me - always look for context. In this case, I would agree with Billh's answer above. addition/removal (or add/remove) Explanation: This usually fits the bill, depending on the context. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 50 mins (2013-01-31 18:56:54 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In other contexts, register and de-register is more appropriate, but not here I think. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 59 mins (2013-01-31 19:06:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- as in dar de alta/baja en Seguridad Social -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2013-01-31 20:33:11 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- another option is inclusion/exclusion but I prefer addition/removal -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 22 hrs (2013-02-01 16:41:56 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- another example of Dar de alta/baja is hospital where we say admit/discharge. Context is all with this catch-all phrase. |
