Bosque alto medio siempreverde

A few months ago I translated an article about forest types in Venezuela, which did not use these "double" terms (sorry I can't provide it, confidentiality agreement). Based on the additional information provided, I think the first term refers to the height of the forest and the second term to the elevation. For example, Cecropia species are invaders which do not grow as tall as large forest trees; it would grow in middle altitudes to a medium height.

Both in this question and the other one, the first adjective (alto, medio) refers to height and the second (medio) to density. This is the clear implication of the following list, where we find "bosque bajo ralo", "bosque bajo medio", "bosque bajo denso", "bosque medio ralo", bosque medio medio" and "bosque medio denso":

And in this one they use "medio denso" instead of the second "medio" (so you have "bosque medio denso", "bosque medio medio denso" and "bosque medio ralo".

Traductorchile may be onto something: maybe the "medio" refers to relative height in the canopy.

The entry appears in a table with the header "Unidades de vegetación presentes" and a list of forest types follows: "Bosque alto medio siempreverde de Mora gonggrijpii, Alexa imperatricis y Clathrotopis brachypetala" then "Bosque bajo denso secundario de Inga ingoides y Senna multijuga interrumpido por matorrales medios densos de Bellucia grossularriodes" then "Bosque medio medio secundario de Cecropia sciadophylla, Vismia cayennensis y Alexa canaracunensis." It seems the first adjective refers to height/elevation, but the second is open to interpretation.

As Lafayette said, more context is needed. "Alto" could refer to elevation or the average height of the forest; "medio" could refer to elevation or to evergreen quality.

I would use the word ¨tall¨ rather than ¨high¨ when referring to the height.

Again, we need more context. This seems to be some way of classifying different forest types.
