neutral  Toni Castano: "Intensive" is okay, "detailed" is not (not necessarily, I mean: their meaning isn´t the same at all). Plus, in your sentence you write "we carried out". Better passive voice (subject + was carried out). We don´t know exactly who carried it out.

  -> In this context, intensive and detailed are the same thing in English. It means they did a lot of work and spoke to a lot of people. And your second point isn't part of the question, but English avoids the passive voice wherever possible.
