La pregunta es simple, pero quisiera una respuesta de inglés "vivo" porque las que encuentro en nuestros amigos los diccionarios me "suenan" un tanto antiguas.
Cómo se dice en inglés el sector CAJA de un banco ?
Tengo entendido que Cashier´s Desk es lugar en donde está físicamente el cajero, pero cuál es la palabra que define el sector?

bueno, en realidad el "teller" es la persona que trabaja detras del mostrador del banco, pero por ejemplo cuando se cierra una caja porque el cajero no esta, hay un cartelito que dice: "please go to next available teller".

La respuesta de 'teller' no es incorrecta, pero si quieres usar un termino en inglés más 'vivo' como dijo, le sugiero el uso de Transactions o Banking Transactions.

Si bien se usa teller, se refiere a la persona, y no al sector del banco donde se encuentran los tellers. En mi banco, tienen letreros para las secciones de Information/Customer Service, New Accounts, Loans y Transactions y es alli donde se encuentren los tellers. La caja es donde se hace depositos, retiros, cambios, etc. y esos todos son Transactions

Aun así, teller es un término que está pasando de moda también. La tendencia hoy en día es de usar otros títulos como Customer Service Representative o Banking Associate.

I'm not sure of the department you refer to - if it's the one that includes tellers, the above is correct - I used to be an officer of the Teller's Department of JP MOrgan (even though I headed Translation Services).
