Como en español, se usa "render" también para "rendir gastos" . Efectivamente significa justificar con los debidos comprobantes

Explanation:
I agree with the 'submitted or reported' per Liz A. in the discussion entries. Otherwise, Este tipo de gastos is syntactically dodgy with a singular subject and plural verb, like 'this sort of people need be welcomed into the fold'.

The substandard (?) drafting needed to 'be submitted to an Englishman' /woman native speaker for improvement.

It is a shame the verbal form of rendir was not entered as the weblink shows a very similar collocation.

patinba: Sorry, but an advance has been granted for the expense that was then incurred. You only claim expenses if you spend your own money and want to be reinbursed.

-> Rendir is already in the glossaries as 'report' and 'submit' plus, in the UK, expense claims are 'put in', whether or not it is on a/c of an expense allowance or advance. Not that it will stop the asker choosing the wrong SPA/ENG answer.
