Spanish to English translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / Financial liabilities - annual accounts
Spanish term or phrase: las finanzas
I'm translating annual accounts and this is mentioned under a heading entitled "Pasivos financieros", but I can't figure out what it refers to.

Explanation:
Fianzas - 'that's not what the source text says, so we - in the light of the terms of our indemnity insurance for professional negligence - are not notarially certifying the translation into English of such' - usual quote from City of London Scrivener-Linguists.

No point howling and squealing with protest over a speculative typo, as has happened before noe on ProZ.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Hi Adrian, I'm going to double-check this with the client, of course, before I make any decision as to what I think the term is supposed to be. And there'll be no 'howling and squealing' on my part anyway:-)

neutral  philgoddard: I don't understand your answer or explanation, but if you're suggesting we should leave the typo uncorrected, I disagree. You can always put a note explaining what you've done.

-> It is not a confirmed typo. If the translation is for UK or Irish notarisation, then the notary pub. cannot certify, nor the translator *self-certify* the trans. of fianzas as 'faithful & true to the original'. Nor, traditionally, can any TN be added.
