Spanish term or phrase: dar salida del accionariado
Here, is the idea "decided to facilitate acquisition of the shares .... permit the acquisition...."
Above all, what's the business lingo, the right phrase here? Business people. Thanks.

A finales del 2018 los fundadores gestores de XXX, liderados por Fulano y Pepito, decidieron dar salida del accionariado a los dos fondos de Venture Capital para incrementar su participación y beneficiarse del futuro crecimiento de la Compañía.

acquire (the two Capital Venture Funds' shareholdings)
Explanation:
The company founders decided to acquire the two Capital Venture Funds' shareholdings in the (same) company in order to increase their own share and take full advantage of the company's future growth.

I think it's quite a simple concept but expressed in a very abstract way in Spanish, making it impossible to express it anything like literally in English without it sounding awkward.
I think them putting fondos in lower case and Venture Capital in upper case also causes confusion.

This was the idea, though worded in a confusing way, though I hope this will help future translators if they run into this opaque phrasing. thanks.

neutral  philgoddard: I think this may be right, but I'm not sure. I believe "su" means the founders, who are buying out the funds. Have you found any references?

disagree  Meridy Lippoldt: I may be very wrong but my reading of the excerpt would have a scenario where managers invite the shareholders to invest in the venture capital funds and "su" would reference the shareholders

divest holdings

Explanation:
See the information in this link: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/d/divestment.asp

"Divestment is the process of selling subsidiary assets, investments or divisions in order to maximize the value of the parent company. Also known as divestiture, it is the opposite of an investment and is usually done when that subsidiary asset or division is not performing up to expectations. Companies can choose to deploy this strategy to satisfy either financial, social or political goals."

Here's a suggestion for the translation:

At the end of 2018, the founding managers of XXX, under the guidance of Fulano and Pepito, opted to divest their holdings in the two Venture Capital funds to increase their shareholding in the Company and benefit more from its future growth.

take leave as share- (stock-) holders

Explanation:
--- (de) a los dos fondos de Venture Capital para incrementar su participación (*en*) y beneficiarse del futuro crecimiento de la Compañía > volunteering vs. being dragged along out of the two Venture Capital funds to 'boost' their equity stake .... in the Company.

As Luis comments, it appears to be badly drafted.

Accionariado > (BE) shareholder (AE) stockholder base: West-

I couldn't decide between either of the previous answers, so am posting a variation of my own.

Example sentence(s):
  • La salida de un socio en una S.L. implica la venta de sus participaciones. En esta entrada vemos el modo de realizar dicha operación.

raise (venture capital funding)

Explanation:
I know there has been a lot of debate re. the source text, but my interpretation is that the founders simply raised venture capital funding back in 2018 (by allowing/promoting the acquisition of shares by venture capitalists).
The original founders turned to VC funds to help grow their business.

We would need more context to be sure.
