Maybe it comes from Greek tithenai "to lay down, to place": maybe referring to conditions confined to one particular geographical spot or locale, e.g. micro-climates, although "regional climates" has already been mentioned. thetic Explanation: This would indeed be an adjective from tithenai/tithemi as Deborah proposes. I am not an expert (only an etymologist), but I did find this in collocation with "holocene." This should be the corresponding EN transliteration for tético in any case. I'll just toss it in. ("...to develop a stratigraphic subdivision of Late thetic, consistent time scale for the Late Glacial and Glacial and Holocene records.") |

En mis diccionarios de geología y geografía no aparece nada sobre tético ni nada que se le parezca remotamente. |
