Ravine es "a deep narrow gorge with steep sides". En los Andes cajón tien un sentido mas amplio, cañon o cañada se aproxima más. Mira por ejemplo el Cajón del Maipo, en Chile (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cajón_del_Maipo), míralo también en google maps (http://tinyurl.com/22lo2cr). Tiene más de 60 km y al final varios de anchura, eso en inglés no se denominaría "ravine"
