I thnk it is much more general than "bond" etc. It effectively meands that the insured cannot make any monetary commitment to the other party without the insurer's consent. Consider the case of a driver involved in an accident. He/she exchanges insurance details with the other party, but must not make any admission of liability or commitment of payment etc. |
