Spanish term or phrase: puntos de latencia
Hi,

I would appreciate your help with this term.

Context:
"Ambiente de pruebas:
Con la finalidad de no tener puntos de latencia o cuellos de botella en la ejecución de los escenarios de prueba, el ambiente de carga y estrés no contempla el uso de balanceadores y dispositivos que los puedan generar.."

Thanks :)

Latency spike
Explanation:
I've never heard of latency points, but spike is a pretty common term when speaking about latency and lag issues, mostly on videogames but I've seen the term used in other software-related contexts.

To me lagging is something different and I wouldn't expect it in a Testing context. Have you some references for where it's being used?

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks!!! I understand the concept, but I also saw lagging in some places and maybe in this context lagging was used instead of latency. I know latency is used in audio recording software.

Asker: They are on the Internet. I was assuming that they could be wrong, but wanted confirmation from someone specialising in the field. Thanks again.

Asker: Thank you very much for your help. I ended up asking the customer to make sure and they told latency spikes was "more" correct. I had also seen many examples of latency points on the net, but I suppose latency spike is the technical term, which is what I was looking for and the customer wanted. I wish I could split points somehow, but the system doesn't give me the option. Thanks again, :)

Reference: latencia

Reference information:
En el sector de la informática la latencia refiere a los retardos temporales que se registran en una red. Estos retardos se producen por la demora en la propagación y en la transmisión de los paquetes de datos. Al sumarse todos estos retardos, se obtiene la latencia de la red informática.

Definition of: latency (IT)
(1) Essentially any delay or lapse in time. In general, it is the time between initiating a request in the computer and receiving the answer. Data latency may refer to the time between a query and the results arriving at the screen or the time between initiating a transaction that modifies one or more databases and its completion.

Disk latency is the time it takes for the selected sector to be positioned under the read/write head. Channel latency is the time it takes for a computer channel to become unoccupied in order to transfer data. Network latency is the delay introduced when a packet is momentarily stored, analyzed and then forwarded.
(2) With malicious software, latency is the period between infection and the first obvious damage to the host system. Many viruses or logic bombs written by amateurs have a short latency and are therefore relatively easy to detect; however, more vicious malware can lie dormant or replicate to many other hosts and then wreak havoc unexpectedly.

lag is a noticeable delay between the action of the user and the reaction of the server. Although lag may be caused by high latency, it may also occur due to insufficient processing power in the client and/or server.
Lagging is mostly used in online gaming ...
I would use latency or time delay

(also "latencia" and also "cuello de botella" are included into "lagging")
