Hola, estimados. Me encuentro traduciendo un certificado de antecedentes penales y al pie del documento aparece una firma y un sello. En el sello se lee ''Comisario de la Provincia de Córdoba''. Lo he visto como ''Police commissioner'' y ''Police Superintendent'' pero la verdad no estoy segura si son equivalentes apropiados. Desde ya gracias.

neutral  James A. Walsh: Agree with your explanation, but in reality, as an English (UK) speaker, I understand "Chief of Pilice" quicker than "Commissioner", which strikes me as an "EU English" term, frankly. I just wouldn't use it unless referring to the EU...

Como el comisario es generalmente el "jefe" de una comisaría o seccional, creo que "Head of Police Precinct, Province of Córdoba" (con la coma en el medio) es más preciso que "Chief of Police" o "Commissioner", que son rangos de mayor nivel en los sistemas de muchos países.
