embargo e inmovilización

English translation: attachment and immobilization

Muchas gracias!

neutral  TechLawDC: "freezing of assets" generally applies to financial and other intangible assets, not physical assets. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

embargo e inmovilización (de aeronoves)
seizure (marine: arrest in rem) and grounding (of airliners)

Explanation:
In descending order of CL - confidence level 5-4-3.

In the UK and internat. law, aircraft and vessels in a court of Admiralty can be subject to a 'civil arrest' - nowt to do aeronautically with 'aircraft arresting nets or gear'.

In commercial law, attachment 'means creation of a security interest': Barron's US law dictionary. Possibly aircraft can be 'attached' in the US, but Transatlantically it would refer to taking of bank a/cs.

Example sentence(s):
  • US: A warrant of arrest in rem may be initiated either by a private party or by a federal agency. Where initiated by a private party, the warrant is issued to enforce a maritime lien against a particular vessel or cargo.
