let the separate criminal proceedings be opened that (…) Explanation: If I´m right, the complete expression should read “piezas de situación personal”, a widely used phrase within the Spanish criminal law (see please for instance art. 544 of the Spanish Criminal Procedure Law). This has to do with additional proceedings dealing with imprisonment and probation of the people involved in the committed crime. I´m not sure, but I believe your case deals with criminal proceedings that might be related to some driving offences according to some references I found on the web. The translation into English is difficult. I would go for a general translation and an explanatory comment.
