Spanish term or phrase: partida
I know that a "partida" is a record of something, not a certificate. I translated it as "inscription". Is that correct?

A "partida" of a document

Explanation:
is either its recording or file... a partid de nacimiento, matrimonio, etc. is the record itself of such birth, marriage, etc. I wouldn't use inscription, but rather record or recording or registration.

record, certificate

Explanation:
Hi there ... you can say record or certificate, depending on the context. If it's a birth, death or marriage certificate, you can say "certificate." Also, check the context to determine whether you are dealing with the actual record, certificate, itself, or an authenticated, notarized extract (summary) of the record, certificate, etc. -- which *remains* in the archives of the governmental office concerned. Hope this helps. Mary

NOT CORRECT!!!!!!!!

Explanation:
Partida might be an item on a balance sheet, it might be a certificate of some kind, it might mean an entry. Depends on what you're translating.
