Spanish term or phrase: en atención a que.... le otorgamos
Does anybody know a grammatical formula to say "en atención a que... le otorgamos..." in English? This is the context:

En atención a que Juan XX cumplió sus estudios, le otorgamos el diploma de médico.
Ignacio
English translation:This degree is conferred upon Juan XX, in recognition of successful completion of...
Explanation:
"This degree is conferred upon Juan XX, in recognition of successful completion of his studies." This is based on the phrasing on several of the degrees my husband and I have (Dartmouth College B.A., Johns Hopkins M.A. & Ph. D., Univ. of Ky. B.A.) My two graduate degrees from Brown are in Latin, so they won't help.

"In view of the fact that.... we confer on...."

Explanation:
I would not use "since..." It is a bit too informal for a diploma.

In view of the fact that Juan X (complete) his course of studies, he is granted his medical diploma

Explanation:
Altho' a sentence is given, there is not enough textual information. However, this is quite a 'safe'alternative. Note that verb must be Present Perfect (I didn't have sufficient space), given the necessity for filling out the sentence.
