Hi all! I need your kind help. I allways have trouble when I have to translate this structure (or similar ones):

"Logramos que la mitad de los registrados al programa fueran usuarios de...."

"We got half the members registered in the program..." (????)

It sounds horrible to me, but I can't think of a way to improve it. But I know the problem is at the beginning ("We..."), I don't know what verb to use.
Thank you all in advance for your suggestions.

One of the first things we ask you to do when you arrive is to register on your degree programme.

Once you've registered on the programme you'll be allocated your own Programme adviser.

If you're using UK English, it would be 'programme'.

-> Thanks, and yes, you're right. I have a habit of translating things twice: first I translate into 'unnatural English' then I try turn it into 'normal' English. In this case I hadn't got as far as the second step!

agree  Charles Davis: "We were successful in ensuring" is perfectly OK, though "succeeded" is perhaps neater, and "registered on" is fine, of course.
