squared scale Explanation: If, as Phil says, it is indeed to do with statistical ananlysis of markets then this is a good possibility: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scale_parameter The normal distribution has two parameters: a location parameter \mu and a scale parameter \sigma. In practice the normal distribution is often parameterized in terms of the ****squared scale**** \sigma^2, which corresponds to the variance of the distribution. I'm not sure about this (low confidence) - stats was the only thing I didn't like about mathematics! HTH |

The lay reader or audience doesn't usually need to know all that stuff. Just that rating scales were used. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 hrs (2013-09-19 09:26:37 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- This is what known as KIS = Keep It Simple (for your target audience). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 hrs (2013-09-19 09:35:50 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.insights.org.uk/articleitem.aspx?title=Measuring ...
