A study about the effect of seasonality on beer sales, the term, not very fortunate, appears in this context:

"Puede llover en una región y no hacerlo en otra. Las lluvias en cualquier región no aproximan las lluvias a nivel nacional y, por lo tanto, no suele entrar como variable explicativa a nivel agregado. Pero lo cierto es que la lluvia resta ventas en el mercado de cervezas."

Although the term in the source text does not appear to be properly chosen, this is how I see it:

"It may rain in one region and not in another. The rainfall of a region does not come close to the nationwide rainfall and, therefore, is not usually included as an explanatory variable in the aggregate. But the truth is that rainfall decreases sales in the the beer market."
