low, mid- and high-range Explanation: appear to be the most common. If it helps, the way I double-check these is to use Google, and use the Advanced Search feature to select the domain. By putting in ".uk", I limit the responses to the United Kingdom. Good luck! :-) |

low-end, mid-range, high-end, top-end Explanation: Low-end cars (UK usage): http://www.ids.ac.uk/ids/global/valchn.html “These firms have looked to the larger emerging markets (ASEAN China, Eastern Europe, India, Mercosur and Mexico) for both low-cost production sites (particularly for low-end cars) and for growing markets to offset stagnation in the industrially advanced countries.” http://bsstudents.uce.ac.uk/lecturers/Paul Embley/GLOBALISAT... “As a result there is a shift of certain low-end cars and expensive components (primarily provided for by German and British producers), towards Central and Eastern Europe.” Mid-range cars (UK usage): http://www.kingscroftvolvo.co.uk/newcars.htm “S40/V40: One of the world’s safest mid-range cars has become even safer, more comfortable and more fun to drive. Otherwise, it is the same inspired, generous Volvo as ever. The Volvo S40. A joy to drive. A joy to live with.” http://web.ukonline.co.uk/Members/jr.marsh/peersf.html “Unlike Citroën who, until the launch of the GS had to make do with a range of 2 CV derived cars, Renault, thanks to massive state funding managed to launch a whole series of mid range cars such as the rear engined Dauphine of 1955 below left, the Dauphine derived R8 below right and R10 bottom left and the R4 derived R6 bottom right.” High-end cars (UK usage): http://catless.ncl.ac.uk/Risks/18.57.html “The typical auto has 10 to 15 processors; high-end cars can have as many as 80.” http://www.formula-1.co.uk/news/1999/sept-99-page4.htm “Most people agree that high end road cars are more complex, with electronics and traction control far superior to Formula One cars.” Top-end cars (UK usage): http://www.flatheadv8.freeserve.co.uk/jimndx.htm “These pics cover the whole gamut of British rodding from super lowbuck T's to top end cars, from rock n' roll weekenders to priceless Millers pictured at Goodwood.” Fuad See citations above |
