Medical - Medical: Cardiology / Results of tests on the atria and ventricles
Spanish term or phrase: Descarga sistólica
There is table listing the DD, DS, VFD and VFS of the right ventricle, left ventricle, septum and posterior wall. As far as I know DD is descarga diastólica, DS is descarga sistólica, VFD is volumen final de diastole and VFS is volumen final de sistole. I cannot work out how to translate descarga in this context and would appreciate suggestions.

stroke volumen / systolic diameter
Explanation:

ejection fraction

Explanation:
"systolic discharge" is an old-fashioned term for "ejection fraction", apparently.
This is also known as "left ventricular ejection fraction" - LVEF

neutral  Chema Nieto Castañón: Hi Neil, if systolic discharge did really refer to ejection fraction then systolic discharge and descarga sistólica are false firends!

ESV

Explanation:
Stroke volume will normally be in the range of 70–80 mL. Since ventricular systole began with an EDV of approximately 130 mL of blood, this means that there is still 50–60 mL of blood remaining in the ventricle following contraction. This volume of blood is known as the end systolic volume (ESV).
