I've just visited this question, which I missed at the time. I'm surprised, David, that you say "blood cancer" doesn't seem to be used much. In fact it's extremely common. Indeed, there's a major journal in the field (one of the Nature journals) called Blood Cancer Journal:

And "blood cancer trials" (I would hyphenate "blood-cancer", but I'm old-school on hyphens) is absolutely normal usage:
https://www.research.uhb.nhs.uk/blood-cancer-trials/

Certainly "hemato-oncological" (I think that's the most frequent variant) is not wrong and could be used in a research article, but "blood-cancer clinical trials" is overwhelmingly the most usual option. A PubMed search gives me the following:

300340 results for "blood cancer"
33916 results for "blood cancer clinical trial"
24 results for "hemato-oncological clinical trial"
8 results for "hemato-oncologic clinical trial"
3 results for "onco-hematologic clinical trial".
