This is a Crime Scene report for a murder in Guatemala, being carried out by Assistant Public Prosecutor accompanied by criminal investigation technicians, and the description of one of the clues is "un casquillo de arma de fuego de calibre ignorado"

I understand this could be "a firearm shell casing of ignored caliber", but "ignored/negligible/disregarded caliber" don't seem to me to be something that is heard in English (although I'm no CSI expert)

agree  John Dawson: Agree with "shell casing." However, the shell casings will indicate the caliber of the firearm. I would suggest the firearm is unknown.
