Les escribo para solicitar su ayuda con respecto a la traducción de "el de la" en la siguiente oración.

Se las adjunto aquí: "No sabía que hacer", el de la idea respondió.

Información y Contexto: Esta oración es de un pequeño cuento infantil. Tengo confusión con ese "el de la". Tal vez ustedes conozcan otra forma natural de expresarla. Hace referencia al niño que tenía la idea. Anteriormente este niño expuso la idea de ir al parque a jugar, pero luego aparece de este modo.

¿ Se podría traducir como :"I didn't know what to do," the one who had the idea / the one of the idea answered?

Explanation:
quite simply use the name of the child who had the idea rather than getting twisted into knots.
But you can add a bit of extra info if you want to (in brackets like this): So,

"No sabía que hacer", el de la idea respondió.

"I didn't know what to do" Pablo (who'd had the idea) replied/responded/answered

with more context it would be possible to decide which verb is best for respondió but it seems all are possible
