Spanish term

clave (de una caja)

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Paper / Paper Manufacturing manufacture of boxes

I haven't been able to figure out what this "clave" is about.
Is anyone familiar with this?
As usual, any hints or suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I think it refers to specifications of parts.

refers to a product code

I think from the context it may refer to another product used in the construction of the boxes. From the description of a 'bliss box' (see ref to earlier proz question below) it needs glue or adhesive tape to hold it together. Now it may be coincidence but the second 'clave', C790, is the code for an adhesive tape sold on a Colombian website (see ref) - and I notice you are Colombia-based. As I say, this may be a coincidence!

This C790 tape is also described as: "...principalmente usada en procesos de empaque y embalaje expuestos a constantes cambios de condiciones ambientales, aún en excesiva humedad o refrigeración. Diseñada para prestar la máxima adherencia y seguridad en empaques de cajas refrigeradas..."

Ok, no problem, suerte!
Note from asker:
Hola Fionn, I really appreciate the thorough answer you provided, but after checking with my client, I was told that code refers to the "wall thickness" of the cardboard, so that's what I used. I hope I can return you the favor some time soon.
