Hi! As a photographer and translator, I wouldn't say "the photographic moment" as I believe that refers to the very moment the photo is being taken and I get from the quote that Cartier-Bresson refers to the moment a photograph captures and evoques in itself, after being taken, as a developed object. I believe "the moment of a photograph" is a much better option.
May I asked why you decided to add "object" to "fotografiado"?

If you can't find the quote (I think that it mutated during translation into Spanish) I'd suggest asking the client to substitute a very similar Cartier-Bresson quote (there are thousands out there) or paraphase it.

...though at the end, I would say 'moment in time'. The difficult part is knowing whether or not to put quotes around it. If you find the published translation, you can. Otherwise, it's not really advisable.

I don't agree. If there is a published translation of a famous author, that's the text that should be used. I have often tracked down translations of non-Spanish-speaking authors.

Why do you need the original quote? Sounds like going beyond the call of duty to me - I'd just translate the Spanish into English.

Firstly CB was French so the original may well be in that language. Secondly, CB was well known for his 'decisive moment' and my bet is that momento historico refers to this.

I think you've done an ok job on translating from the Spanish, but of course it would be better to track down the original if possible. For ''del momento histórico' though, I would maybe translate it as 'the historical moment'.
