Stereoscopics Explanation: I may have found it!- It's called steroscopy and is explained here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereoscopy Also, as a noun, it needs to be written 'sinfin'; otherwise it's an expression which simply means ' without end'; |

backdrops (textile) Explanation: as this is about textile art depicting landscapes, and the preceding term is carpets, and given that a "sin fin" in the technical tv/movie sense is a form of backdrop, and given the existence of "textile backdrops" in the textile arts, I'm putting the chain together and offering "backdrops" as the translation, ie: "in carpets and backdrops the remind us of where we come from" Fabric, cloth, canvas and textile photography backdrops Backdrops of woven textile fabric - DutyCalculator Backdrops, Textile - Ricky Richards Monster Graphics can supply textile banners and flags to anywhere in the UK. ... wall-hangings Explanation: Since Asker already knows it refers to a 'backdrop'... |

endless tapestry Explanation: I am guided here by another source on the same works by the same artist: "Después comenzó a tejer representando naturaleza, como los 'pastizales' (alfombras) o los 'refugios' (tapices sinfines que cuelgan de la pared hacia el piso, invitando a la introspección), que expone como obra o vende a clientes particulares." http://issuu.com/mapa.de.las.artes/docs/mapa_dise_o_02_issuu... It's on p. 39 (p. 37 of the actual book). So they're tapestries, and they're called "sinfines" because they hang right down to the floor, as if they were endless. There's a picture of one on p. 46. This book has an English version (p. 40), which is not very good, but I think the literal translation they use for this, "endless tapestries", is probably best. Since "sinfín" or "sin fin", in my view, is being used literally here, it should be reflected in the translation. |
