the high-class/chic ones Explanation: I figure that the mother and daughter are referring to some type of undergarment (the Las) so Las de alta costura refers to some kind of high-class or chic garments that they have seen in the Bravo Murillo shop. |

the haute couture/designer ones Explanation: The right word would be "haute couture" although "designer wear" is more frequently used. They are not referring to a person, but to a similar type of designer garment seen at the mentioned store. Did it have a xxx colour lace like the designer ones (i.e. the petticoats) we saw at such and such? |
