Spanish term or phrase: sacar la baraja
I'm wondering if there is a term for this phrase other than "to take out the pack" (of cigarettes or cards). Here is an excerpt of the conversation that "sacar la baraja" appears in. The scene is on a train in Mexico in the 1940s or 50s, and a group of teenagers are talking to each other:

—Ya es tiempo de sacar la baraja.
—¡Flaco! Pásame los cigarros; vamos a echar humo.

Thank you!

English translation:Get the cards out
Explanation:
As Marouchka says, they're going to play cards - or so it seems, without more context it's a little difficult. I think it's a case of "get the cards out and let's smoke". Hope this helps. Don't think it's put the cards on the table, although viable, but without more context it's tricky to say.

take out the pack/deck of cards

Couldn`t it simply be that they are going to play cards and have a cigarette at the same time?

agree  Carol Gullidge: without any context to go on, this straightforward interpretation seems most likely to me! to me. I'd simply say "get out the cards!"
