Spanish term or phrase: mariposas forjadas
mariposas forjadas para maquinaría de industria alimentaria.

Text is a contract and does not say whether these are butterfly valves, butterfly screws, etc. What kinds of butterfly things go into maquinaria alimentaria?
Cecilia
English translation:forged wing nuts
Explanation:
A mariposa is a wing nut; why one would need to say "forged" I don't know.

Thank you so much. You've ALL contributed to help me, and I'll admit the context was sketchy, but this was one of those RUSH things, in which the client takes his chance due to time pressure. Why forged? Later they talked of moulds, (cast) so I'm not even sure I understand the difference they want to express. They probably meant custom-made.

forged nut

Explanation:
Butterfly things that go into food processing machinery? Maybe they are packaging edible butterflies?

Seriously...

Termium gives: *cold pressed nut* for mariposa. So I guess you have a forged nut (not "cold pressed", of course, if it is forged)

"Forged butterfly nuts"

Explanation:
On a machinery description, and if there's no mention of "valves" (butterfly valves), it applies only to "forged butterfly nut" (tuerca de mariposa forjada).
