Telematics Explanation: The term "telematics" (accepted and used by the European Parliament and other Euro-institutions, although not yet included by any major dictionary) comes from the French "télematique" and the concept includes, in addition to data processing, all areas involved in remote data transmission/communications/telephony (Internet, BBS's, FTP, cellular phone technology, etc.).
