The Blackberry Smartphone series has a series of preloaded profiles. The following is from the online user's manual for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 Smartphone, on the page headed "About ring tones, sounds, and alerts":

"Your device has a Normal profile and five other preloaded profiles: Loud, Medium, Vibrate Only, Silent, and Phone Calls Only."

The Spanish version of this same guide reads as follows:

"Su smartphone tiene un perfil Normal y otros cinco perfiles precargados: Alto, Medio, Sólo vibración, Silencioso y Sólo teléfono."

The pdf version of the English guide for the 8320 Smartphone reads:

"Your device has six preloaded profiles: Loud, Vibrate, Quiet, Normal, Phone Only, and Off."

However, in the Spanish version of this same guide for the 8320, it says:

"El dispositivo dispone de seis perfiles de notificación
predefinidos: Ruidoso, Vibrar, Silencioso, Normal, Sólo teléfono y Apagado."

It is therefore clear that in Spanish, "Alto" and "Ruidoso" are used by Blackberry in different places as alternative names for the profile that in English is always called "Loud".

I think it is clear what has happened here. These user guides must have been written in English and then translated into Spanish. The term "Loud" was translated "Alto" in some places and "Ruidoso" in others, probably because a different translator was involved. But there is no sign that "Alto" and "Ruidoso" are differentiated from each other, so no other term is required in English here. Our aim should be to detranslate, rather than retranslate, the Spanish terms.
