Spanish term or phrase: tipo (en esta frase)
SPAIN. The phrase in question is "campo tipo de fecha". It appears in the software strings shown below.
My query is whether they just mean "date field" (= the field where we enter the date), or if the vocabulary item "tipo" in the Spanish version actually means something, and if so, what? I often find that "tipo" can be moitted in translation. I'd ask the client but it's a public holiday here today...

  -> Tks for the 'agree' - but it quite precisely does not refer to a 'date format', which in an IT context specifically means the way in which a date is displayed (eg "mm/dd/yyyy" is a date format). Here, it refers to the the 'purpose' of each date.
