I think this is the appropriate wine term: a slight sparkle resulting from some carbon dioxide in the second fermentation, but not enough to make it a sparkling wine as such.

Pearl wine (from German Perlwein?) seems to be used in America; you don't hear it much in the UK. I've always heard "pétillant" among wine people (or the very prosaic "semi-sparkling").

agree  Robert Carter: Yes, this seems more likely, and as you say, "punto" is implicit. My initial idea of "sparkling point" was a total guess as an unabashed beer-swigger, with the hope that someone with more refined tastes might enlighten me. Et voilà!
