Así, se puede hablar de "sierras blancas" cuando predominan rocas de tipo calizo y de **"sierras pardas"** cuando los materiales son predominantemente silíceos, en ocasiones con elevada presencia de hierro y magnesio.

Je ne suis pas sûre qu'il s'agisse de "montagnes brunes" par opposition à "montagnes blanches". Quelqu'un peut-il confirmer ?
