"One of the more familiar ice cream desserts in the United States, the sundae typically consists of a dish of ice cream topped with sauce or syrup (often chocolate, caramel, butterscotch, or strawberry), and in some cases other items such as chopped peanuts, whipped cream, or maraschino cherries. Its history is in dispute, with a number of cities claiming to be the birthplace of the treat."

Ich wäre sehr vorsichtig mit Schokoladeneiscreme oder so; die Sundaes in den USA, die ich vertilgt habe, wurden - wenn ich mich recht daran erinnere - meist nach der Sauce benannt, nicht nach der Geschmacksrichtung der Eiscreme. Wichtig ist, dass die Schokoladensauce (oder welches 'Topping' auch immer) kalt und flüssig ist; beim 'Hot Sundae' warm und flüssig. Auch muss es sich nicht um Softeis handeln (sprich, die MacD*-Variante), sondern es kann durchaus qualititav hochwertige Eiscreme sein.

Ob ich den Begriff 'Sundae' so beibehalten würde, weiß ich nicht; vielleicht passt ja der englische Begriff und spätere eine kurze Erläuterung im Text.
