mastership piece Explanation: "Prov" here is in the sense of "proof" "evidence", and the "mästerskapsprov" is the piece of work that shows that the journeyman has qualified to be a master. The English terms is really "masterpiece", but because this has widened so much in its use I think it would be better to use another term.
