extraction (exposing) of cables Explanation: Better avoid the term of ('indecent') exposure as ambiguous for both the transitive (laying bare) and intransitive (lying bare) forms. Example sentence(s):

removal (taking out) of cables Explanation: Cables are not totally uncovered. And they are not extracted from their outer jackets. Note that "sugbil" is mentioned here. I suppose that one end of cable is detached from switchgear station, while its other end is uncovered (by a suitrable machine), and then is captured by a sugbil, and the sugbil carefully takes it out from its underground location. So, cables are uncovered only in one small point, not throughout their length, ant in such a manner risk of their damage is avoided. This taking out from underground location is called "framtagning", as if you take out something hidden from the place where it was hidden. When all the cables are taken out by sugbil, they have to be bound together (omläggning ) for ease of handling of storage. |

uncover cables Explanation: I would use this suggestion myself. I answered the same for a different term, though the context is much the same. https://www.proz.com/kudoz/swedish-to-english/construction-c... This is what they're doing, though the technical method used is different. But there could be other descriptions, too. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 21 days (2019-07-31 14:37:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Revisiting this to thank Helen, I'll note: The 'sugbil' refers to an interesting machine as pictured and the conveniently videoed here (https://www.delete.se/tjanster/bygg-och-industrisanering/vak... which would be used in this context to remove the sand or gravel covering the cables described. These permits their removal and 'omläggning' whole for reuse in likely different trenches. And this has nothing to do with 'extracting' from the cable jackets. |
