Swedish term
Tekniktillhörighet
Swedish to English
Tech/Engineering
Electronics / Elect Eng
Cable installations
I encountered this term earlier in a document from SJ or Trafikverket and I do not recall how I dealt with it then. This time it's related to the labelling of cables and occurs several times. This is one example:
Av varje kabelmärkning ska framgå vilken tekniktillhörighet kabeln har.
Av varje kabelmärkning ska framgå vilken tekniktillhörighet kabeln har.

Despite the approval of your project manager, I feel this translation is more general.
Section 6.7 of <https://www.trafikverket.se/contentassets/df87649ac4c54c6e88... shows how Trafikverket classify a particular cable, but references 1 and 2 show its broader application in other fields.
I would use "märkvärde" to translate 'rating' here.

Example sentence:
Each cable marking must state the technical category of the cable.

Thanks Michael! I would tend to agree with you. Useful references, too. Most grateful. |

This seems to relate to the cable rating and "assigned rating" might work here.
Cables are rated according to their intended function.

Thanks for the swift response, Janine. That's spot on. I just receievd a reply from the Canadian Project Manager involved with this matter who I enquired with yesterday, who offered the same, thus confirming your suggestion. Excellent. |
