exercised Explanation: Might be another option here, as in taking up or exercising a right or power. Midwest Wind scored a victory Monday night for their 150-megawatt Walnut Ridge wind farm when the Bureau County Board voted to continue hearings on the extension of the proposed project. According to Bureau County rules, if a conditional use permit has not been acted upon or exercised within three years, and if “there is little or no vesting of interest,” the permit becomes null and void. http://www.windforillinois.org/news/bureau-co-to-continue-he... 'may be used'/make use of Explanation: This is in the act too, Chap 22 -- §27 '... as a condition for making use of the permit for the activity...' 'Section 28 Where appropriate, the environmental court may order that a permit for an activity may be used even where the ...' 'Exercise' a permit sounds ok too, but you need to consider your context -- this is the 'official' use in any case (with their standard disclaimer regarding translations...we don't have to agree with everything...) -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs (2012-05-09 14:31:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Pretty much agree w ur observation. We can suggest the change to the government translators, kansliet or enivironment ministry, whoever is responsible. The eng version of act is pretty good otherwise (the parts I've had to deal with). good luck! |
