I would be extremely careful with "a year ahead", especially if it may be interpretated legally, and must not be be mistaken to mean "ahead of time".

Yes to your question. The other alternative, afaiaco, would be "onwards". I presume the context is some kind of a disabiliaty compensation based on one full year of reduced capacity to work (with, importantly in the context, no interruptions), and the compensation will, I presume, be paid from year 2007.

"ett år framåt" betyder tolv månader i sträck. Om författaren
tyckte det var OK med "för minst ett år" hade han/hon inte brytt sig om att lägga till "framåt". Det viktiga i översättningen är att det betyder exakt samma sak, utan tvetydighet, inte att det översätts "literally".
