Swedish term or phrase: till hösten
Can someone help with the translation of a time expression? A certain senior citizen correspondent is contemplating acquiring a new knee joint. To protect the individual's identity, I've changed a few minor details of the letter but not the construction of the time expression itself. Below in part is a slightly paraphrased portion of the letter:

"Jag har dålig artros i högra knät. Jag hade röntgen för ett par veckor sedan, och nu väntar jag på svar. Det blir nog nytt knä ***till hösten***."

My translation currently reads as follows:

"I have bad arthritis in my right knee. I had an X-ray a couple weeks ago, and now I'm waiting for an answer back. A new knee will probably be ready ...

And now for the fun part:

" ... in [i.e., during] the fall" or "by fall."

Which translation is better, and how does one tell? Any help greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.

agree  S.L. (X): till hösten - this fall. During the fall would be "under hösten" and "by fall" has the connotation [not later than] by fall ([inte senare än] till hösten).
