Swedish term or phrase: skjutsa in
This text is about the best way to fold clothes to maximise space in cupboards, and drawers, and wardrobes. It is written in a very slangy style, I think, so I want to convey that in English.

Here is the context: "Här viker jag lätt ihop mina grejor och skjutsar in."

Would "shove in" do the job here, or is that perhaps a little too forceful, or implies messiness? My technical dictionary actually gives "skjutskiva" as "slider", so could this also be "slide in"?

Thanks in advance! Oh, and take your time with this one... this is due on Monday ;-)

fold them away
Explanation:
Hard to find the right verb without going to far ('toss them in' does not work for me here)
If you are prepared to use one verb instead of two (in Swedish), then...

sliden

Explanation:
Shove indicates IMHO a need of force or the existence of resistande so 'slide in' is, I think, quite perfect in this case.

stash (put away)

Explanation:
We can't be so sure here can we, but my wife reacted to your Swe word (töntig!). Your 'shove in' is, as you say...'too ...', and more so. Anyway, I I'd personally feel silly using this word to describe what your doing, but you're writing someone else's attitude here, of course. At least it implies some care in what they are describing.

disagree  SafeTex: Toss and shove do not go with what precedes in the text (fold). You don't fold your clothes and then toss them in as they would unfold while flying through the air

I realize this entry is a bit late, but this would be one alternative to "pushing" or "shoving" in one''s folded clothing.
