Swedish term or phrase: patientpärm
From the research I've done so far, it seems that the word "pärm" can be translated "binder" or "folder".

I would say that this is potentially confusing to English speakers (at least in the United States). To me, a binder and a folder serve similar purposes but are clearly different objects.

When a doctor or other medical authority speaks of a "patientpärm" (as in the context below), should I understand this to mean a "folder" or a "binder"?

"Information om dina rättigheter och skyldigheter i kontakt med vården, var god se patientpärmen."

Thanks

Explanation:
Normally it would be a binder. If it were a folder. it ought to be called a "mapp".
