disagree  Andrei Gitch (X): http://www.boundless.org/ VV kolla!+ Boundless in the English language means utan gränsen. Skugga betyder shadow. It is just wrong translation and the web page is the example of the usage of the word you have offered.

-> A literal translation of "utan skuggor" makes no sense in English here. "Boundless friendship" includes (to me) an implication of happiness to be in the company of the other person. It therefore conveys a meaning in keeping with the spirit of the source.

neutral  rajagopalan sampatkumar: 'boundless' can refer to the extent, but the source text refers to the quality of the friendship

-> The extent of a friendship is a very important parameter in measuring its quality. :-)

agree  Deane Goltermann: Getting into this late, but will just back you up in taking this suggestion--a good stylistic usage. There are others, but they can be saved for next time.

agree  Linda Larsson (X): I think this one fits best. Another one is: friendship with no strings (attached)

agree  Charles Ek: This does a good job of dispelling the shadows, perhaps even better than mine. The alternative offered by Linda Lind is also good and should be offered as an answer.

an unclouded friendship

Explanation:
That's what I'd say. Unclouded can be used in constructions such as a close and unclouded friendship, unclouded love/happiness/brightness, etc.
