Swedish term or phrase: Aktiveringshane
In an instruction manual for a bicycle safety product.
It's effectively a collar that clips around the neck and contains an airbag for protection in the case of an accident.

The Aktiveringshane and Aktiveringshone are used to close up the collar and activate it:

Later on in the document we learn that it is magnetic:

Any suggestions?

you wanted ideas... nine hits on your term makes it difficult.
This gives you several possibilities

But 'male' and 'female' ends or connectors are commonly used designations in many contexts. Like threaded hose connectors and more. Wikipedia even has some reading.
